Office lighting, air conditioning, meetings, staring at a computer for 8 hours. Just a few of the things that cause wear and tear on your beauty regime that you so carefully applied that morning. Keeping a few key items at my desk helps with those quick touch ups before running into a meeting or after work drinks with the girls.
Besides my makeup basics which include things like MAC Studio Fix Powder, Clinique Superbalm & Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Hydrating Water there are 5 others I swear by.
My hair has the unfortunate effect of becoming frizzy throughout the day, especially at the top. Kérastase Carré Lissant Smoothing Sheets are my go to for this as they calm flyways, remove static, and renew shine. At $28.99 for a box of 50 they are a great deal and a life saver.
Next common issue? Hands. With the air conditioning my skin is always getting dry so there has to be lotion wherever I go. My favorite is Crabtree & Evelyn Verbena and Lavender de Provence Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy. Lavender is one of those scents that relaxes me so this lotion does more than just keep me hydrated. Now that we have the hydrating covered the next step are nails. In a perfect world I would never have chipped nails, in reality these things constantly chip and break. Because of that I keep 2 things in my desk drawer; Dior Vernis Nail Lacquer In Nuit and Butter London Scrubbers. This Dior nail color is gorgeous and I have a penchant for deep red nails. Whenever I get a chip I use one of my Butter scrubbers to quickly rub off my nail polish and then apply a quick coat for constantly perfect (or near enough) nails.
Last but not least, lips. Lipstick is one of those things that can instantly upgrade your look. I don’t always wear it during work hours because it drys out but once work is over it’s a great way to take my look into the evening. The one that I’m currently fixated on is Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color in Coral. It stays moist, has a great bright color and doesn’t bleed which is huge with me. I absolutely hate bleed lines on my lips.
So those are my top 5 items to keep in the office for afternoon fixes and impromptu outings! Never underestimate the power of being put together.. or having a cute desk for that matter 🙂
