Pizza… the cheesy, meaty, doughy wonder of the world. My love of pizza knows no bounds except for that fact that bad pizza pierces my soul just a bit. No one should ever have to take that first bite of pie and think ehh this could be better. So in an effort to save you all from that awful experience I’ve compiled a list of the best pizza places in the Bay Area right now.
Cafe Reyes | Point Reyes Station
Yes this is a bit outside the immediate Bay Area but it is completely worth the drive! Classic wood-fired pizzas with local ingredients make this one of the better pizzas I’ve ever had. The ambiance of the little restaurant is also welcoming and they have a large patio for those summer days.
Parlour | Oakland
Get the Sugo de Arbol – calabrese salami, fresno peppers, seared garlic, fresh curd & burrata. You’ll thank me later.
Jersey | SF SoMa
This is my FAVORITE pizza place right now. When I worked in the city this was around the block and I can literally eat an entire Bianca pizza. It’s a luscious combination of onion creama, lemon ricotta, mozzarella, cresenza and TRUFFLE OIL. It’s the holy meca of pizza people and I adore it.
Pizzaiolo | Oakland
You can’t go wrong with Pizzaiolo – from the farm fresh ingredients to the simple presentation they are doing nothing fancy but that’s why it works.
Gather |Â Berkeley
I really adore Gather for their entire menu as they cater to pretty much anyone you’re eating with. Need vegan food? Not a problem! Can’t have gluten? They have something for you. Their menu changes daily so you’re getting ingredients that are right for each season and top of the line. The pizza is gorgeous and worth every single bite.
Ok please excuse me now, I need to go get some pizza!
